GENERAL CLASS QUESTIONS

How do I pay for the class?
When you click a "Buy Now" button, you will go directly to a sign-up page. Enter the student's name and email and create a password. Enter the zip code connected to the card you are using. Then pay for the class with any major credit or debit card. You will then go directly to your student dashboard where you can start the class any time.

What if I'm paying with a different person's credit card?
On the payment page, use the STUDENT'S email and name. You do NOT have to use the credit card holder's name. The zip code should be the one connected with the debit or credit card. In addition, all traffic school students will enter their personal information in a form at the time of purchase. This information will print on the certificate.

How does the class work?
The course is a series of videos on important driver safety topics. Each safety topic, for example Impaired Driving, is divided into short video lessons. After you watch the first video, you will then have access to the second video. In other words, you have to take each lesson in order. When you pass that section's quiz, you can move on to the next section.

Is there a test? How does it work?
Yes, there will be quizzes after most Sections of the class, which you can re-take until you pass. You can also re-take the final test until you pass it. Pay attention to the videos and you will do great!

Do I have to take the class all at once?
No! Once you purchase the class you can take it any time, at your own pace. For example, you can purchase the class on Monday, start it on Tuesday and finish it on Wednesday. Just make sure you complete it before it expires in 60 days.

How long is the class?
The classes are 4-hours. The Tennessee Department of Safety mandates a 4-hour class for traffic school.

Are you certified by the Tennesee Department of Safety?
Yes! The Tennessee Department of Safety certifies both our online and in-person classes every year. Our license number is 475.

I got a letter from the Tennessee Department of Safety saying I could take a traffic school class to get points off my record. Should I take your class?
Every three years, TDOS gives drivers the opportunity to remove points for speeding tickets from their driving record. If you paid for the ticket and did not take a traffic school class at that time, then this is your opportunity to remove the points. Sounds like a pretty good deal, right?

Do I receive a certificate at the end of class?
Yes! As soon as you complete the online class, you will have the opportunity to download a certificate immediately. And at the end of our in-person class, you will take a certificate home with you.
Some courts will allow you to email the certificate, but make sure you follow their directions on how to forward your certificate to them. Our online students can find their certificate on your dashboard at Account/Certificates.

How long do I have to take the online Traffic School course?
You have 60 days to complete the online traffic school course.

How often do you offer the in-person traffic school class?
We offer the in-person class approximately every six weeks. Drivers who take this class say it's fun, not boring, and they enjoy getting to know the other people in the class.
TEEN DRIVER SAFETY CLASS QUESTIONS

I am paying for my child to take this class. Do I enter my name and email on the payment page?
You should enter the student's name and email address, while the zip code is the one associated with your card. If you do enter your name, please go to the class Dashboard, select Account then Profile and update your child's name. This is the name that will print on the certificate.

I signed up and paid for my child. The course looks like it is in my name but that is not correct. What do I do?
No worries. This happens. From the Student Dashboard, go to the Account drop down menu, select Profile and update the name.

Does this class help me pass my permit test?
This class is not designed to help you pass your permit test. Once you study and pass the permit test, this class provides you with invaluable information on how to be a safer, more competent driver, by discussing the choices we make on the road and why they may affect more people than just those in the car with you.

Does this class qualify for insurance premium discounts?
Yes, many teenagers take this class for insurance discounts. However, every insurance company has a different policy, so it's up to you to check with your agent for eligibility before you sign up for the class.

Do you offer driving lessons on the road?
No, unfortunately we can't help you with this. We do not provide behind the wheel, on the road driving lessons.
55+ MATURE DRIVER QUESTIONS

Is the RightLane 55+ class certified by the Tennessee Department of Safety?
Unfortunately, the Tennessee Department of Safety does not certify any 55+ online class, however this class is based on our traffic school class, which is certified by TDOS.

How long do I have to take the class?
Your registration is good for 60 days. If you need more time, please contact us at [email protected].

How do I get my Certificate of Completion?
As soon as you complete the class, you will be instructed to download your certificate. The certificate is ready immediately upon completion.

Do you report my completion to the insurance company?
No. It is your responsibility to provide the Certificate to your insurance company. You should also confirm your eligibility with your insurance agent before taking the class.

Is there a test? Or quizzes?
Yes, there are simple quizzes throughout the class, and you need a 75% to pass. You can retake each quiz until you score a 75%. The final test is 20 questions, and again you need a 75% to pass and can also retake it until you pass. Pay attention to the videos and you will do great!
